Beef, the way Mother Nature intended!

   Griffin Farms/Diamond Bar Ranch has been in the ranching and Angus Cattle Beef business in Northeast Florida (First Coast Area,  south west of Jacksonville) for many years.  We have become known as a premium cow-calf producer where annually we raise yearling calves to be auctioned nationally and shipped west by the truck load for finishing.  We have herds of high grade Brangus (Brahma/Angus) cross cows that are bred to Registered Black Angus bulls which have been selected for producing high quality (tenderness, marbling and rib eye sizes) meat.  Each animal is specifically identified and tracked.  We have computerized herd health records on every animal with a full history on our breeding stock to ensure we maintain the quality and genetics that our programs demand.  Our North Florida ranch consists of 1800 acres of very good quality range and forest lands which is ideal for pasturing cattle in an unspoiled, quiet and content fashion.  We have hundreds of acres of rich and natural organic muck land which yields tremendous growth potential for both natural and cultivated forages and requires very little commercial fertilizers or irrigation.  The muck in our geographic area is of the depth and quality where it has historically been mined and harvested as potting soil.  We believe this environment is also responsible for the rich and bold taste and texture of our Florida Grass Fed Angus Beef.   You can be assured that our beef will be different than the industrialized uniformity you've become accustomed to in the commercial beef that is found in the meat cases of your local supermarkets.  Combine this setting with the fact that we have teamed with the University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF-IFAS) to develop a Natural Grass Fed Beef Program under the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) concept and in conjunction with the tri-county (Putnam, St Johns & Flagler) IFAS Extension Offices.  The basis of this grass fed beef program is to develop a premium product to be provided by the producer (rancher) directly to the consumer at a reasonable price without an entourage of middle people. We believe it is becoming critical for the producer and consumer to be more connected where there is an established confidence in not only the quality of the product but also the manner in which it is produced.  Local production and harvesting, local marketing and local consumption.  It can not be any better than that! 

Natural Grass Fed

We have developed a Natural Grass Fed Beef Program where we raise high quality Certified Angus Beef (CAB) animals with proven genetics in a natural, low stress, antibiotic and growth enhancer (steroid & hormone) free environment. These animals stay with their mothers until they are approximately nine months old when separated and then transferred onto natural grass pastures until they are ready for harvesting. They are approximately 1150 pounds (live weight) and 16 to 20 months old when harvested. This is accomplished on planted natural forages and open pastures without the use of crowded feed lots and corn or other grain (starch based feed). Raised the way mother nature intended.
